Restitution

Gen 20-22; Matt 6:19-34

Gen 20:16 To Sarah he said, "I am giving your brother a thousand shekels of silver. This is to cover the offense against you before all who are with you; you are completely vindicated."

Do we make restitution when we offend someone? Is a "sorry" enough? I guess it depends on the severity of the offence. The king took Sarah publicly, and so, there had to be a public restitution to compensate for the slur on her reputation. He ensured she was completely vindicated, not only be his words, but by his deeds. He had the fear of God.

Prayer:
Father, may we have that same honesty and integrity that this person displayed when he found out he had dishonoured someone, albeit unintentionally. If necessary, may we make the proper restitution to the one injured by our action. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
